Bison

Today we learned about Bison! We discovered they live only in North America. Buffalo are commonly mistaken for bison. Buffalo are actually only found in Asia and Africa. A male bison is called a bull. A female is called a cow. Bison eat grass and flowers. They travel in herds. They have horns which continually grow and never fall off. They can use these horns as weapons. We can't wait to see the bison at the North Carolina Zoo!

The Slow, Sleepy Sloth

There’s a rainforest creature you really should meet.
She’s got three toes on each of her feet.
Her name is another word for slow.
She’s the sleepiest creature I ever did know.
Slumbers all day and slumbers all night,
Asleep in the treetops, way out of sight.
Sleep tightly, sweet sloth,
And know this is true:
Sometimes we all feel exactly like you!
