We learned how raisins can jump in carbonated liquid during our science experiment!
Write about how they can jump, and how they fall back down!

We are learning how to tell time!
Please work with your child on how to tell time at home. This is a skill we will be focusing on all week.
The Clock Poem
I'm in the clock crew and I'm okay!
I tick all night and I tick all day.
I've got two hands, I'm having a ball,
Because I've got no arms at all!
My big hand can move sixty minutes in one hour,
I'm the one with the strength and power.
My small hand isn't quite as fast.
If they were in a race, it would come last!
It takes so long just to get around (12 hours you know),
It's careful, small, and slow.
Now meet my friends that help me tick-tock,
Half past, quarter past, quarter to and o'clock.

S blends Continues!
We will be learning a new poem today, using s blends. See if you can find all the s blends in this poem. Post your comment, writing all the s blends. For a bonus, see if you can write a sentence telling what you learned about penguins!
Icy
I slip and I slide
On the slippery ice;
I skid and I glide-
Oh, isn’t it nice
To lie on your tummy
And slither and skim
On the slick crust of snow
Where you skid as you swim?

Thank you Latham!

Write 3 sentences telling what you learned about sloths!
We read this poem and watched a short video on sloths in the Amazon. What a great way to learn the SL blend (sleepy, slow, slender, sleet).
The Slow, Sleepy Sloth
There’s a rainforest creature you really should meet.
She’s got three toes on each of her feet.
Her name is another word for slow.
She’s the sleepiest creature I ever did know.
Slumbers all day and slumbers all night,
Asleep in the treetops, way out of sight.
Sleep tightly, sweet sloth,
And know this is true:
Sometimes we all feel exactly like you!
